The Bengals will head to the Divisional round for the first time in 31 years as they defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 26-19.
Joe Burrow was efficient as he completed 24 out of 34 passes and threw for 244 yards with 2 TD's. His former LSU teammate, Jamar Chase continued his dominance as he caught 9 passes and had 116 yards receiving. Chase has been playing lights out this season, and should be the AFC Rookie of the Year. Derek Carr almost brought the Raiders back once again as he nearly added another game winning drive to his resume, but threw a pick just short of the goal line on 4th and goal. Carr completed 29 out of 54 passes for 310 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT.
This game had a huge controversy happen in the second half, when Joe Burrow rolled out and threw a TD in the back of the end zone to Tyler Boyd. As Burrow released his pass, one of the referees blew their whistle causing many Raiders players to stop, and the Bengals would go on to score a TD. Per NFL rules, if a whistle is blown during a play, it should be ruled dead. This was not the case in this play and would help the Bengals to go on and secure their first playoff win since 1991.
The Bengals will find out who and where their next match-up will be after the conclusion of the Chiefs - Steelers game tomorrow night. As for now, Burrow and the rest of Cincinnati can enjoy their huge playoff win!
